The 2018 Gala Dinner will be held in the Galmont Hotel on Friday, 11th May at 8 pm.   This will allow IDSI members to meet in a more sociable and relaxed environment than the academic and research venue. All delegates are welcome to attend, the cost of the dinner, including wine, is €65 per person, and must be booked when registering for the Meeting.

Pay Parking (€8 per day for residents, subject to availability), €2.50 per hour otherwise, in Q Park directly underneath hotel.  We are holding some rooms at a special rate of €150 s/b, €160 t/b per room B&B per night, these rooms will be released on 20th April, if not taken up.

Please note that the Galmont Hotel is exactly 5 minutes’ walk around the corner from the Bus and Train station. From there, it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the University.

The 4* Hotel Meyrick is also beside the Station, on Eyre Square (former Great Southern Hotel). www.hotelmeyrick.ie.  Other hotels close to the Galmont include: the 3* Skeffington Hotel, www.skeffington.ie, also on Eyre Square; the 3* Harbour Hotel, www.harbour.ie, on the New Dock Road, a few minutes’ walk from Eyre Square.

Travel

Rail: Trains run from Dublin to Galway about every two hours.   The first train leaves Dublin at 07.35, the last train back from Galway is at 19.20. The journey takes about 2 hrs. 20 mins. The station is beside Eyre Square, 15 minutes’ walk from NUIGalway. www.irishrail.ie
